As well as a new Stone Soup project in concert with the museum and local Police Communications Officers, our creative director Simon Sullivan will once again his weekly Little Hands sessions, very popular with children and adults alike!
Stone Soup will be working with Portland Basin and Tameside police communications officers on a new film project, aimed at increasing local participation in the museum for children.
With the aim of tackling and reducing anti-social behaviour, a selected group of young people will work with the museum and Stone Soup to create an educational film for their peers, illustrating what creative and cultural activities are on offer in the Ashton area. We hope that this first film project will, in turn, help to bring in new volunteers for future projects.
In addition, Simon, one of our creative directors, will be returning to the museum on Thursday mornings for his ever-popular 'Little Hands' sessions with children under 5, designed to improve literacy and early years skills through artistic and creative activities. Check out our 'What's Happening' page for more information on the times of sessions.
